    Kevin,

We will be looking for you at the Kentucky Melungeon Gathering. MHA picked a grreat place so we all can hit the documents in courthouses and other archives in the area. We have great-grand parents that were married in Pike County, Kentucky, a known Melungeon area.

Too bad that Joanne is so bitter towards the event, her remark ".....note the absence of the HISTORICAL MELUNGEONS researchers such as Jack
    Goins, Jim Callahan, Pat Elder....."

This remark is mean spirited and childish.

    See you in Kentucky!

    To 'Anonymous'

Joanne is not bitter, she is simply amazed that there are so many people who have no idea what a Melungeon is and there are so very few people trying to find out.

Do you think the MHA is going to release the DNA results they promised at Kingsport in 2002? How many more events before they release them?

Perhaps they don't want the results known because they know the HISTORICAL, DOCUMENTED MELUNGEONS DNA DOES NOT MATCH THE SELF IDENTIFIED MELUNGEONS.

Read the Melungeon-L archives this was a concern as early as January of 2002.

She is also outraged that the MHA took the names of people who attended past unions and gave them to a university to study Melungeon Diseases..

What is "MHA DNA"? I put keywords in google and found 23 returns. Is this correct meaning? I mean is this test number?

For Morgan sires and dams you need to contact (email or phone) that registry and get the DNA Lab Test number. Supply this MHA DNA Test number to the IMRä. Reach the MHA at: 802-985-4944; registry@morganhorse.com

My great-grandparents were married in Pike County, KY too. I found their marriage bond while researching the Pike County Courthouse. A fire damage a lot of recorded documents but they have tried to salvage bits and pieces.

Wasn't the Historical Melungeons invited to speak at the MHA Gathering in KY? Or because it's a one day event?

Sorry, I don't know what MHA DNA is either. Anyone finds out please update us.
